Final Cut Studio RED Installer v30.1.0
SUMMARY
For Intel-based Apple Macintosh systems running Final Cut Pro 7, part of the new Final Cut Studio – The Final Cut Studio RED Installer v30.1.0 provides the RED QuickTime Codec (v4.2.0) and Log and Transfer plug-in for FCP (v30.0.0) functionality to import REDCODE RAW clips as either native REDCODE media (R3D’s) wrapped in QuickTime or the option to transcode them directly to Apple’s ProRes codec.
There is also a new specialized functionality for color grading native QuickTime wrapped R3D media in Color using the original RAW parameters (REDCODE plugin for Color v4.2). Located in the download is a whitepaper PDF describing in detail this new, advanced way to edit REDCODE media, color grade and finish inside Final Cut Studio.
Notes:
- “Using Red Media with Final Cut Studio 3 Whitepaper” included in download.
- Minimum system requirement on Intel-based Apple Mac systems is 2GB of RAM. RED recommends either a 4-core or 8-core Mac Pro Tower system with at least 2GB of RAM, a suitable graphic card (such as NVIDIA 8800, or ATI 4870) and high speed storage for this new end-to-end native REDCODE as QuickTime files or the existing REDCODE transcode to ProRes codec workflow.
Changes since last version (v20.0.0):
- Support for Mysterium-X sensor as well as the Mysterium sensor
- Support for RED ONE camera firmware up through Build 30.
- Support for latest color science. Old footage WILL look different from any previous release. If you need to keep the old you can install version 20.0.0.
- You can now change gamma space, color space, ISO, FLUT, shadow, DRX, curves and lift / gamma / gain for your QuickTime reference files by (re)generating your QuickTime reference files with the latest REDCINE-X build.
- Added support to Apple Color’s RED room for the new REDgamma gamma space and REDcolor color space.
- Added support to Apple Color’s RED room for 4.5K footage. Clips recorded at 4.5K (4480 × 1920) will load as if they were shot with a resolution of 2240 × 960 due to Apple Color being limited to 4K maximum resolution. Half-resolution decodes for 4.5K footage will not go through any debayer.
- ISO in Apple Color’s RED room does not go beyond ISO 2000. Any clips shot at a higher ISO will be clamped to ISO 2000.
- Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) is no longer supported with this release.
