Paul Cameron ASC recently conducted a workshop at Camerimage using a RED EPIC to demonstrate his workflow to deliver "advanced dailies." Post Magazine spoke with him about his process.
DIT/final colorist Mark Wilenkin joined Cameron on a shoot where they worked with Assimilate Scratch on set. Wilekin explains that having the colorist on set "communicates it to the rest of the team that all this work that we're doing is going to be faithfully captured and taken all the way up, right up to deliverable."
As Cameron describes it, it's a "new frontier" for the traditional workflow. Cameron and Wilenkin are both confident in its effectiveness.
