RED unveiled its latest product innovations just in time for customers to experience them at this year’s IBC event.
Making its debut at IBC is RED’s revolutionary live high dynamic range (HDR) output solution, HDR-2084. Available exclusively via the REDCAST™ Module, HDR-2084 allows customers to see true real-time HDR images while they’re shooting. Additionally, productions will be able to simultaneously monitor both the standard dynamic range (SDR) and HDR images they are capturing in real-time—empowering shooters to immediately compare the varying output images. Designed to meet the leading HDR display standard, SMPTE 2084, HDR-2084 empowers you to harness the full spectrum of color without delay. Current REDCAST Module owners will be able to take advantage of this new feature with a future EPIC DRAGON and SCARLET DRAGON® firmware update.
Also on display are the newest additions to the OLPF family—Standard OLPF options for RED DRAGON® sensor cameras. Standard OLPFs provide a versatile day-to-day shooting option that will give a natural color rendition in a variety of lighting conditions. WEAPON® camera owners will have the option to purchase the WEAPON RED DRAGON 6K Standard OLPF as part of the intelligent design OLPF lineup, while EPIC DRAGON and SCARLET DRAGON owners can purchase the DSMC® Standard OLPF to integrate with their current swappable OLPF system.
WEAPON owners will be pleased to learn that RED has added additional peripheral options for their arsenal—including an enhanced EVF experience as well as a 4.7” Touch LCD. EPIC and SCARLET camera owners also have the option to purchase these displays along with adaptors to make them compatible with their camera BRAIN®.
Additional product announcements for IBC include a new 120GB RED MINI-MAG® option as well as a configuration update of the DSMC2™ REDVOLT® Expander.
