RED Brings a 4K SXSW Experience to Viewers Worldwide

March 17, 2015

The FADER FORT SXSW

RED Digital Cinema is teaming up with Dell, Intel, and Sharp to bring you the first ever 4K live streaming concert event from SXSW. Using industry-leading technology from each of the partners, viewers will be able to experience The FADER FORT in ultra high-definition from the comfort of their homes. EPIC DRAGON and SCARLET DRAGON® cameras will be equipped with REDCAST™ Modules to live stream the concerts in 4K while simultaneously capturing 6K R3D® RAW masters.

Dell will be hosting a special preview event at The FADER FORT on March 17th, providing attendees with a behind-the-scenes look at the technology that will be used to capture, encode, and stream onsite from within the Dell/Intel Live Stream Pod. During the preview event, viewers both on location and online will be treated to performances by Passion Pit and Mew.

The official The FADER FORT presented by Converse festival will run from March 18th through 21st from 1pm—8pm CDT. Viewers will be able to catch streaming performances from over 35 artists—including Chance the Rapper & The Social Experiment, Hudson Mohawke, Migos, Bleachers, Girlpool and Vince Staples.
