RED Firmware v2.2 Increases Power Efficiency and Speed Across the V‑RAPTOR Lineup

RED will be demonstrating its newly released beta firmware, 2.2 for the V‑RAPTOR [X] platform—including the new V‑RAPTOR XE—delivering major advancements in power efficiency, boot speed, virtual production workflows, and integrations with RED Cine‑Broadcast and RED Connect. The update not only refines the V‑RAPTOR ecosystem but redefines its power profile, stability, and overall workflow responsiveness, building on previous enhancements such as variable ND control and fan management with deeper system‑level gains. Among the most impactful improvements are optimized power draw—measured by RED at up to 5W of savings for longer, more predictable battery life—and boot times reduced by as much as 10 seconds, helping crews get back up and rolling faster between takes.

Architecture of Action: Filmmakers, Stunts and Storytelling in Sync
At 14:30 on Saturday, Feb. 14, RED will host a panel at the Expo exploring the critical interplay between cinematographers, camera teams, directors, and actors that lays the visual foundation of action cinema.
