RED Digital Cinema is exhibiting at the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam, Netherlands this week. True to form, RED delivered an important presentation today with exciting product news.
In the Big Screen Theater this afternoon, RED gave a presentation where RED and HP showed off RED's workflow. HP recently introduced the HP Z280 a Dual 8 Core Intel Xenon powered tower customized for RED and Adobe CS6.
From the stage, RED also showed off the "Meizler Module" -- named after esteemed 1st AC, Steven Meizler (Contagion, The Social Network, Armageddon). The Meizler Module is a multi-purpose module co-developed by RED and 3ality Technica which provides many I/O components to empower advanced configurations and allow for less cables and more freedom.
At the presentation, RED also debuted the iPad app, REDSync, which works in tandem with the Meizler Module. The app allows a user to control RED cameras remotely. It can roll camera, adjust looks, change camera settings such as frame rate and ISO, display what is shown on camera, playback and scrub. In addition, looks can be emailed to the iPad and applied to the camera.
At this prestigious gathering of cinema professionals in Europe, RED is also thrilled to announce RED Digital Germany -- our first outpost in continental Europe. For more details about these and all our other exciting announcements, please consider joining our mailing lists.
IBC runs until September 11th this year. Find RED at booth 3.A55.
