Last night at 11pm, Jim Jannard posted the first information on the 6K Dragon Sensor on REDuser.
GamerLive.tv covers the announcement and adds this:
"The 4K wars started at NAB 2006 six years ago when RED came out of nowhere and introduced its RED One 4K camera at then unbelievable $17,000 entry price. At the time, Sony's top end F65 1080p camera was selling at more than $200,000. While many industry skeptics doubted that RED could deliver, in 2007 RED delivered the first batch of RED ONE 4K cameras. Since then, RED has come out with the 5K RED EPIC and SCARLET cameras, which have been or are being used for movies such as the upcoming Hobbit movies from Peter Jackson and the 11-time Oscar nominated Martin Scorsese film Hugo."
